Summer Bulbs

Many summer bulbs are native to South Africa where they get rain in the Winter and lots of sun in the summer. At Dawn Gardens they are planted in February so they get the advantage of the winter rains and bloom in the warm season.

Cyclamen hederifolium blooms late summer and fall.

This is a new lavender variety of Cyclamen hederifolium going dormant in the Spring.

Lycoris and Nerine have many different colors and bloom in the late summer and fall.

Naked Lady (Amaryllis belladonna) has leaves in the Spring and flowers in the Summer with no leaves.
