My brother and I visited Elk Rock Garden in Portland Oregon which is the headquarters for the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon. The staff there recommended that I visit the garden of John Kueman and Kathleen Holme that would be open this weekend.

It is a tropical paradise with huge pots and plants that have large leaves.

This water feature produces the sound of water throughout the garden.

The large gravel areas allow plenty of space for entertaining.

Many plants are flowering with red, yellow and orange shades from Tithonia to Bidens to Alstroemia to Bat-faced Cuphea.

Many large trees give a feeling of space to the garden such as Eucalyptus, Sequoia, Palms and Yucca.

This Lotus plant is a good accent in the gravel areas.
