April 17
We had a 5:30 wake-up call, breakfast, bus trip to the Zambian border, immigration stop, boarded a boat to cross the Zambezi River right where they are building a new bridge. It is at this point where 4 countries meet: Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
We get on another bus and head for the airport in Livingston, Zambia.
We boarded our charter plane with our group of 25 people and our guide.
After an hour flight we landed at the Royal Zambezi Lodge Airport.
We ride the Toyota to the lodge on a dirt road at the end of the runway.
This lodge is owned by the same people who own the airline so nobody can come here unless they take the same airline. This place is hundreds of miles from civilization. This is the view when you first come into the lodge:

That evening and the next morning we went out on 2 boat cruises on the Zambezi River. Beautiful sunset and sunrise.
In the afternoon we searched the islands in the river for crocodiles, hippos and birds. We found them along with interesting plants such as the Lotus.
In the morning we landed ashore and went for a 2 hour hike to learn about different animals and their behavior.
