Ceanothus

Ceanothus are woody plants that are used for ground covers and screening shrubs in the garden. They are all native to North America and the majority are native to California. Most of them have different shades of blue flowers.

GROUND COVERS

Carmel Creeper (Ceanothus griseus horizontalis) Up to 3′ tall and 15′ wide, fast growing


Ceanothus ‘Centennial’ Up to 2′ tall, 10′ wide

Ceanothus hearstiorum Very flat to 8″ tall.


Point Reyes Ceanothus (Ceanothus glorious) Up to 2′ tall, 10′ wide

SHRUBS


Ceanothus ‘Julia Phelps’ up to 7-8′ tall and wide. Beautiful deep blue.



Ceanothus ‘Joyce Coulter’ Up to 6′ tall and 10′ wide

Ceanothus ‘Ray Hartman’ grows up to 20′ high.

Ceanothus thyrsiflorus ‘Skylark’ Up to 5′ tall

Buck Brush (Ceanothus cuneatus). White, very smelly flowers native to the area around Dawn Gardens.

Ceanothus pallidus ‘Marie Simon’ light pink flowers

    Barry so sorry to hear you weren’t feeling well. I was going to let you know that Benjamin and Jeanna are stationed in England. They love it there!!! Maybe they will still be there next year.

      I am enjoying Nicholas’s trips around the world since I probably won’t be able to do it any more. The Doctor says I have congestive heart failure.
