We don’tget much snow at Dawn Gardens since theelevation is only 1300′. But thisyear we got a littlesnow – just enough to bringwinter beauty to the garden but not enough to cause damage.
Here are a couple of videostaken on golf cart rides through the garden:
The Camellia garden
Dawn Gardens as viewed from the street.
Here are a couple of other videos showing the snow adding some sparkle to the central part of the gardens:
Some winter interest in the garden comes from the plants that produce fruit at that time:
Washington Thorn (Crataegus phaenopyrum)
Persimmon (Diospyros kaki)
European Cranberry Bush (Viburnum opulus)
Crabapple (Malus ‘StrawberryParfait‘)
Laurustinus (Viburnum tinus)
A few plants have colored leaves due to the cold weather:
Thank you for sharing your winter wonderland. We enjoyed the photos and videos as well.
